Pricing / SendGrid

A SendGrid alternative, for the parts SendGrid is not good at

SendGrid is a large platform with a long history and an enormous installed base. Its pricing page is now on twilio.com, its free tier expires after 60 days, and its smallest published plan starts at $19.95. If you want something smaller, cheaper, or built around your own AWS account, this is the comparison.

Short answer

Stay on SendGrid if it works and you want the ecosystem - the templates editor, the validation tooling, the dedicated IP management. Choose SendFleet if you want cheaper entry ($5 for 5,000 against $19.95), a free tier that does not expire (50 a month forever against 100 a day for 60 days), or your own AWS account, which SendGrid does not offer at any price.

What actually differs

SendFleet SendGrid (Twilio)
Sending infrastructure Yours (BYOC) or ours (Managed). Twilio's, via SendGrid.
Can you use your own cloud account? Yes. No such option is published.
Free tier 50 emails a month, permanent, no card. 100 a day for 60 days, then nothing. source
Small-volume pricing $5 a month for 5,000 emails. Essentials starts at $19.95 a month (source).
Which volume each price buys Published and exact, because there are five plans. Their pricing page selects volume with a dropdown and renders the prices with JavaScript, so we could not read which volume each published price covers. Their own FAQ says 50,000 to 100,000 fits Essentials and millions fits Pro, so we have left the mapping blank rather than guess.
Email activity search The dashboard, 14 days, on Managed plans. 3 days on Free Trial and Essentials, 7 days on Pro and Premier. source

Where we are not the right answer

 • **We could not verify SendGrid's volume-to-price mapping** and we have not guessed. Their page renders it client-side.
 • **SendGrid is now Twilio.** `sendgrid.com/en-us/pricing` serves a migration notice and the pricing lives on twilio.com.
 • **If you already have a SendGrid account and a working integration, do not switch for a price.** We are four times cheaper at 5,000 emails a month and that is not worth a migration on its own.
 • **They publish very large volume claims.** Source says "more than 200 billion emails every month." We have no comparable number and will not manufacture one.
